valencia from the 1960's. ok, so i have to go to the market and find one. i not know exactly the apron of the maid of valencia in the 1960's. housewife, sorry. not a mate. it is not abstract, let's say. but specific in the color, which is absolutely inspiring and fabulous to go into the story. the movie was the cook, the thief, that one -- with helen merrin, who is absolutely fabulous -- helen mirren, fabulous actress. he showed me some painting of rembrandt and said, "uc that? could you do the in modern, in today? and i said i will try. yes, but it is part of the job. so i tried. i worked with a dutch artistic director, and i get to work with him. he was very specific and fabulous man. also, they were very specific about the color. in reality, they asked me because the color is a little like in the spirit. it is something in common. i was flattered to do that, but it is beautiful to see how much they are -- our work, our demand is to make a beautiful movie. i should not be able to do anything. i never thought about it, but when people ask me, you have to be so clever. >> tom ford made

a project at outbound market street -- on outbound market street at valencia, to make left turns work better for cyclists. the way it had worked is that cyclistses would merge across the two lanes of traffic and across the f-line tracks, both of which cause safety issues for everybody, for both motorists, for f line operators and for cyclists. so, what we've done is put a cut out on the right so the left turning traffic goes to the right, waits for a signal which they now have from signal change to give them a protected green, that allows them to safely cross in absence of traffic and perp dishtion lard to the tracks to make for a much safer environment. we've got new signage and pavement markings to make that clear. as everybody was stuck on the subway, i rode my bike yesterday and rode passed it. it's a significant safety improvement, not bust for cyclists, but for f line operators. it's a very busy area. we have 120 people -- it's about a third of the left turns off of market street during rush hour, our cyclists. so, they're taking a whole lot of vehicles off the road by being on their b

the suspect s seen in the area of valencia gardens at 15th and valencia. he had confronted three victims over there. he fired one shot from about 15 feet away, did not hit any of the victims. on another pass he confronted another group of people. he displayed a weapon. people ran. there were no shots fired. however, there are numerous witnesses to this incident. his vehicle description was given out, a license plate given. 15 minutes later one of our solo motorcycle officers saw the car at around the intersection of 21st and mission. a filming traffic stop made, call for backup, two other police units arrived. when they attempted to exit their vehicles in order to make the arrest the suspect took off in his car, was traveling eastbound on 21st, when he came to south van ness, he struck an innocent vehicle going southbound on vance. vance -- van ness. the vehicle was struck violently into a building, the 29-year-old passenger was killed. her 18-year-old nephew was the driver. he was in critical condition. as of today he's in stable but serious condition but will not be leaving the hospital any

that mission street will be as nice as valencia street also. the concern that we have is very similar with the previous comments that you heard, is that there's no definition of clear indication of what you call it affordable housing because we do have some problem, as you know, with crimes, gun, gunshots and gangses in the neighborhood. and with such a tight community and area, we just need to address that. and to bring in more what you call affordable, we are not sure what is. we need to find out more what they are planning to do with the complex, with what they plan in the future on 26th and shotwell. and also wondering why wouldn't -- the new complex would have some percentage of units that are affordable, like the old days, you know, the law, the coat, the theater is required to provide x amount of units to be more affordable, mixing the people that would have set a -- the environment than having two separate condition or [speaker not understood]. one is more luxury, one is contemporary, and you pay a lot of money and you put the other one that's more -- less desirable in a speci

around 24th and valencia. yesterday we had the great pleasure of cutting a ribbon in the richmond. here in district ten there is a park renaissance. we are seeing incredible things happening thanks to the parks bond and we have a new play ground at mclaren park and new restrooms at bay view hill top and mclaren and the improvements here. since 2010 the port has been an incredible partnership and promoting our youth stewardship program and our program and we have the inaugural class and kids products of this neighborhood and learning environmental education. they are getting paid. it is work and helping to steward the land and learning leadership skills and i want to name a couple of folks from that program. kimberly who runs the vote tear programming and zoey and brenda from green acres. where is brenda? she's not here and carolyn from the port who we have worked incredibly close with. down valencia street or hayes valley, because those are the biggest concentrations that we find parklets. parklets are built out into the street. they are an expansion of usable public space next to the sidewalk and they are a good place to sit and talk and maybe have a cup of coffee. by developing accessibility guidelines, we're ensuring that these spaces are also going to be accessible to people with disabilities. that there will be turning circle radius. that there will be accessible counters and seating built into the design and also that they provide the right kind of warnings for those who are blind or low-vision to make sure they don't actually step off a parklet and into traffic. so these accessibility declines were developed as a collaborative effort with the planning department, and the department of public works disabled access coordinator, as well as the folks at dpw who issue the permits for these park/parklets. and coming soon at the planning department website, you will be able to see the accessible guidelines up on their page. it's still under construction, but
